He spent most of his mortal adulthood in the cafés and bars of the Bairro Alto, drinking and quarreling with the great poets, artists and writers of the 18th century, getting steadily more drunk and delusional on wine and absinth.
Today he is quiet although he is often found around the quieter bars and cafés, one of which he himself owns. He obsessively writes poetry, although unlike the Toreador believes he is not narcissistic enough to want to perform or publish them. He is normally quiet, nervous, vague and forgetful, and often has hallucinations and unexplained terrors. When drunk or on drugs he is more aggressive and confidant, but not necessarily any more rational.
Appearance
Luís is of average height, with short dark brown hair, and wide, staring brown eyes. He is very skinny, pale and stooping, and is often found leaning over café tables scribbling away long into the night. He doesn't take much care of his appearance and is generally dishevelled and scruffy, wearing dirty light-coloured suits and open-collared shirts.
Angelique was born as a slave in Brazil, and arrived in Lisbon with her master untold years ago. She is a large strong woman, usually very calm and coldly placid, but given to incredible frenzies of rage and destruction the cause of which can be difficult to predict. She shuns most kindred society.
Appearance
Angelique is tall, large and beautiful, with flawless dark brown skin and penetrating dark brown eyes, which trap those who see her in their pools of cool intensity. Her dress varies, but she generally wears white or coloured shirts, and skirts which complement them. She is never without a large amount of jewellery - bangles, ear-rings and necklaces made of wood, bone, and ivory, always intricately carved or painted. Constanze of the Toreador believes she makes all her jewellery herself.
