The Archivist's Den
Welcome to my Vampire
site!
Needless to say I've put a lot of work into this so read,
enjoy, and let me know what you think. I really like to hear
from people, especially if you've found it interesting, or even
if you have something constructively critical to say!
The story of Guido
Alvarez comes from three chronicles I have run in
which he appeared.
The games here form part of an ongoing greater story, called
The Millennial Cycle.
So far, it has been a trilogy, but my new chronicle Midsummer expands it, acts as both prologue
and epilogue, perhaps tying up some of those loose ends (though
of course, not all).
La Serenissima Chronicle
began the journey in 15th Century Madrid and then later
in modern-day Venice (1996).
- A big hello, welcome and 'where the f**k are you these
days?' to Chris, Terry, Andy, Nigel, Pete and Sandy. Special
thanks to Nigel for the "ballerina leaps from palazzo window
into a watery grave" sequence!
The Alvarez Chronicle
took place in Cornwall and Amsterdam (1997/98),
in which Guido's tortuous family tree showed its sinister roots,
and he helped to stop his ghoulishly seductive mortal father
Juan Tertius from selling the soul of the world into the depths
of hell - with the help of a serial-killing band of local students!
But Guido had his own agendas, and was finally driven insane
by diabolising an ancient Malkavian Methuselah, the very first
and original Socrates...
- Thankyou Mehran, Selena and Ebeth for making the whole
thing very, um, erotic!
The Millennial
Tension Chronicle ("...can
you feel it...?") was set in Lisbon
at the very end of 1999. After years of research, Guido finally
awakens the Dragon, unites with Tremere and uses the Sabbat and
Settites to bring about Gehenna and the defeat of Caine. Well,
in one timeline, at least...
- Hi again to Mehran and Selena
- I really am genuinely grateful for being my loyal fan club!
Thanks also to Phillip the Tin Man and Agne - was
it mean of me to make you Toto?! Thankyou for creating a great
story.
Midsummer 1845 - was last part of the
Millennial Cycle trilogy, a kind of Prologue and Epilogue set
in the deceptively genteel Dickensian world of the1840s, and
the nightmare post-Apocalyptic Distopia of 2045.
I like Guido - he's
not as bad as his detractors make out. Some pretty nasty things
happened to him in Amsterdam, although in the Millennial Tension
version of Gehenna, he makes up for it by becoming High Priest
to the Dragon and temporal master of the Empire of Blood. Not
a bad reward for a lifetime of murder, rape and death, eh? Who
says crime pays...
But some of the sick Rituals
he created, just look at them! Or maybe that was me who created them... I have a great
NPC (non-player character) multiple-personality-disorder thing
going. Just look at Mabel....
*blinks quickly* oooooOhi i i i itttwasn't me... dadDy DId
iT!!! Yes, yes, he diiid... he... he floats, you know, yes he
does.... he does..... *blinks again*
Ahem. "Homunculi
of Mirrors" and "Curse of the True Soul's Vision"
are definitely my favourite rituals out of the ones I created
for the Order of Draco (which I pronouce DRAH-ko, for
those of you who've wondered), although I have never been truly
nasty enough to inflict the latter ritual on any of my players.
That's something my devious mind has been saving for a rainy
day...
The picture of Guido, by the way, is in fact Giuseppe Balsamo
- the famous 17th century alchemist, magician and fraud, known
as Count Alessandro Cagliostro, who provided the first
outlines of Guido's unpleasant character (magic, sex, death and
an incestuous family tree).
And finally, I'm not just a sad vampire-addicted goth-net-head-role-player.
Yes, I do have a real life! And to prove it, anything more you
wanted to know - and bucket-loads of things I'm sure you didn't
like to know - are revealed about me on my personal webpages
